Illuminating Togetherness: Light to Night SG Arrives at CQ @ Clarke Quay
As the city prepares to glow under the banner of Light to Night SG, CQ @ Clarke Quay transforms into a vibrant hub of art and connection. From January 7th to 15th, the "Power in Us" theme takes center stage, inviting visitors to experience the night through a series of glowing installations and shared stories that celebrate the strength of community.
Void (Deck) The Walls: A Tribute to Shared Spaces
At the heart of the festivities is Fountain Square, featuring the centerpiece installation "Void (Deck) The Walls" by the artist collective Arterly Obsessed. This luminous display pays homage to the quintessential Singaporean void deck, reimagining these familiar architectural forms as glowing symbols of play and unity. It’s a space designed to remind us of the simple, everyday connections that bind a neighborhood together.
Interactive Art and Hands-On Creativity
The experience goes beyond just viewing art; visitors are encouraged to pause and engage with the environment. You can take a breather and challenge a friend to a game of chess, hosted within this artistic interpretation of a classic community space. For those looking for a tangible memory, a dedicated gachapon station offers the chance to design custom light-themed keepsakes using a variety of stickers and trinkets.
The creativity continues on Sunday, January 11th, with an exclusive clay-making session from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Participants can learn to craft traditional snacks and miniature shapes using air-dry clay. This hands-on workshop is available to visitors with a minimum spend of $20, making it an ideal afternoon activity for families and craft enthusiasts alike.
A Complete Night Out at Clarke Quay
After exploring the light installations and participating in the festivities, the evening is far from over. CQ @ Clarke Quay remains a premier destination for dining and nightlife, offering an array of spots to refuel and unwind. To ensure the night ends on a high note, visitors can make use of the free CQ Night Shuttle, providing a convenient and comfortable ride home after a long evening of discovery and light.
