Job Description

Essential Duties:

• Interact positively and professionally with guests and colleagues
• To maintain a sound knowledge of the menu and presentation standards for food and drinks
• Recommend and suggest specialties to guests
• Assist in improving the customers’ dining experience
• Handle customers' complaints and feedbacks
• Presents bill and process payments
• Ensure that handover, closing and opening procedures are completed in a timely matter
• Answers phone in a clear voice, coordinate and document reservations/deliveries/takeaways

Supportive Functions:

• Check station for cleanliness, functioning of equipment and sufficient supplies
• Inspects table and glassware for cleanliness and/or damages
• Maintain front-of-house ordering, inventory, stationary and stocks for daily use in outlet
• Ensure maintenance of equipment
• Train junior staffs in the outlet as and when necessary
• Carry out any other duties as instructed by Restaurant Manager

Job Requirements

• Strong communication skills - both verbal and interpersonal
• Experience in working in traditional and modern Japanese cuisine and service
• Understand the basics of Japanese mannerisms and etiquette
• Able to multi-task
• Flexibility
