Didn't feel like the Pilates class was worth the price, given that their classes are all video-led. In one session, only a few exercises are done, around 6 if I remember correctly, e.g., focusing only on the lower body.
Pilates is a full-body exercise focused on the core. Also, you should be able to get many more exercises within the same amount of time compared to other studios, but because this studio's concept is video-led, the video is really slow-paced and only has around 6 exercises in a session.
Just sharing the experience here for others to take note of their concept.

Got turned away from a Pilates class by Sherine after arriving 2 minutes late, despite the official exercise session not having started yet. When I looked into the room, they were still in the posture and alignment check phase. What’s more, I was already in the studio and coming from another class.
I’ve been late to other classes by a similar amount of time and have never had an issue with being admitted, so this seems to be a problem specific to Sherine.
What makes this more galling is that two of my classes I had booked with Sherine had already been canceled before, with less than two hours' notice, even though I had blocked out time for the sessions. I don’t understand the rationale behind such strict adherence to the punctuality policy and why there’s no grace period, especially if they are operating in a CBD area where people are bound to be late. If someone is 15 minutes late or a trial student, I can potentially understand why they have to be turned away. But I’m paying quite a large sum for the membership? Even more disappointing is that I wasn’t even given a quick phone call or a knock on the door, especially since I was already in the studio and they knew.
Additionally, I’ve found the Pilates classes to be repetitive after just a couple of weeks. The lack of variety or creative variations from the instructors makes it feel like we’re simply repeating the same video with the same moves, which is not motivating for “progression.” The studio really has to rethink how the “syllabus” is structured, or else I really think they’ll be unable to retain people in the long run.
Given these experiences, I’m seriously considering canceling my membership once the promotion period ends, or at the very least, sticking to just one exercise type. It doesn’t feel worth it.
I’ve had good experiences with the other instructors. They’ve been welcoming and nice. It’s just unfortunate that a couple of negative encounters with one instructor have left such a bad impression.

I did a Pilates reformer trial class at Lava Clarke Quay. The studio is lovely and well appointed. The staff are super friendly. My main worry is that they don't offer different workout sequences for the classes. I was told by Lava staff that we do the same sequences each class. This is not really an effective long-term exercise strategy. You have to do different exercises to work out different muscle groups. That is the main reason why I haven't joined yet. I'd like to see variety in the workouts. I was told that maybe they would add a different sequence in about 6 months. I'd say you'd get rather bored doing the same exercises each class. Being a seasoned Pilates reformer advocate, I'd love to join but only if you offer different workout sequences for the classes. I think if you did that you'd be able to get more people to sign up.

I took a kickboxing class with Rahman today. This class was during an off-peak time, so fortunately, I was able to get a personal lesson with him. Rahman is really kind and supportive throughout the lesson.

Really friendly and clean studio! I went for their Pilates class, and instructor Sarah was super attentive to beginners like myself and adjusted our postures along the way. Would highly recommend!

Went for a Pilates trial led by Saraphina. She was really good at teaching; her instructions were clear, and she paid attention to each of our postures. The facilities are clean and in great condition, and the staff are very friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend!

The staff is the best part of this fitness studio; they are friendly, kind, and encouraging, which helps you work towards your goals in a more effective manner.
The facilities are new and clean, and the classes are varied and accessible for all intensities, creating an environment that does not allow you to plateau.

Tried my first ever kickboxing, and I love it! 💥 Nice dark ambiance with awesome music choices and an engaging instructor to make you think of nothing else other than following the beats and sweating it out. I feel lighter immediately after the class; probably I punched and kicked out all my stress. …

It's quite worth it as they are running a promo for 3 unlimited all courses if you sign up for 1-2 years of any of their courses. It's my first time trying kickboxing, and the kickboxing teachers, Rahman and Chihiro, made the classes very fun. Pilates is a bit slow-paced, though, as we need to wait for a demo from the video, and the movements are the same for the same class since it follows the video.

I tried kickboxing at **Lava Fitness Clark Quay**, and it was an amazing experience! The energy in the class was electric, and the gym was well-maintained. The instructor was motivating and explained the techniques clearly. I loved the mix of punches and kicks, and I left feeling empowered and energized. I definitely recommend this class for anyone looking to challenge themselves.
Also attended a beginner Pilates class. The atmosphere was calming, and the studio was clean and well-equipped. The instructor was knowledgeable and provided helpful modifications. I enjoyed the focus on core strength and left feeling relaxed and energized. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to improve their flexibility and strength!

I enjoyed attending the different classes at Lava Fitness: kickboxing, EMS, and Pilates. It provides workouts of different intensity levels. It felt great, especially after an EMS workout where I burnt up to 600 calories in just 20 minutes. The class size is small, which allows instructors to pay more attention to each participant. Both EMS and Pilates use videos during the classes (though not for kickboxing), so hopefully these videos can be updated regularly. There should also be more lessons during weekday peak hours (i.e., after 7 p.m.) to allow members to attend at least two classes in a single visit.

I came here for a Pilates trial class as I wanted to build muscle strength. The Pilates class uses a video for demonstration while the instructor moves around to correct your postures. Innovative approach. However, the videos became mundane after a while as we continued with the same videos time after time. It would be better if there were customizations from the instructors.
I signed up subsequently as I liked the variety of classes, in particular EMS. As usual, there are standard videos we follow during classes.
There are Kickboxing classes in this studio. Awesome classes as they involve real punches and kicks in the dark. No videos used.
Generally, the classes are kept small, which ensures that the instructors are able to pay attention to everyone. One star down due to:
- Limited classes after working hours;
- Standard videos used for classes.

I have been attending classes at this studio for Kickboxing, Pilates, and EMS. The classes were well-structured, with clear instructions and guidance from instructors on proper form for effective workouts and to prevent injuries. However, the repetitive workout routines may lead to a plateau in progress. I suggest updating the routines at least monthly to keep things fresh and challenging.
The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with ample shower rooms, changing rooms, and toilets. The studio also has a water dispenser and provides towels.
One area for improvement is the class scheduling, particularly during peak hours (7-8.45 pm). It would be ideal to allow attendees to take two classes in one visit.
A notable perk is that the unlimited package includes access to hot yoga classes. Additionally, it would be a great advantage if the studio offered body composition tracking every 3 months, allowing members to monitor their progress and adjust their fitness goals accordingly.
Special shoutout to the instructors here - love them all! ❤️ They're knowledgeable, supportive, and make each class enjoyable. Overall, I had a positive experience and look forward to continuing my fitness journey here.

LAVA Pilates is absolutely the best Pilates studio! I love this place! All the instructors, especially Sherine and Sarah, are great. What makes them great is that they are all different, so it keeps the classes interesting. All the teachers radiate competence, so I feel confident in the workout I do. I feel so stretched after a class; it’s wonderful! And Nissa and Anna, two pretty girls, are friendly and kind. Thank you.
