Amazing teacher who cared for me and the rest of his students both inside and outside the classroom. Lessons are easy to follow, but still challenge students to grasp concepts and study harder. He spoke to me outside class on multiple occasions in his free time to check in on my progress and give me personalised advice on how to handle the rigorous nature of JC chemistry and JC in general. I am extremely grateful. I recommended him to many of my peers, who only had good things to say. 10/10

The tutoring was great, making learning Chemistry extremely easy, engaging and worthwhile. Whenever I had trouble, the teacher would always be ready and willing to help me with any confusions I had. The dedication he shows to ensure that you are on the right track is something you may rarely see at other places. I wouldn’t have been able to improve from a failing grade to almost a top grade without his easy-to-understand advice and consistent mastery evident in his explanations, making learning extremely easy and enjoyable.

Ace Brainery is a wonderful tuition center. It allows for easy learning with very effective and simple explanations for hard topics. It has a great learning environment with snacks, drinks, and aircon. Mr. Desmond is a wonderful tuition teacher, making lessons super engaging and breaking down super hard topics into easy, bite-sized pieces. He gives great revision worksheets and practice tests, allowing students to be super prepared for exams.

I joined this tuition center just four lessons before my end-of-year exams, and it really helped elevate my chemistry to a score I deemed unfeasible to achieve. I would like to thank this center for all the help it has provided, especially when Mr. Desmond responded to my questions promptly, even in the wee hours of the night. Thank you!!!

Desmond deserves more than 5 stars. My daughter is taking HL Chem, which requires not only an interest in the subject but also dedication and continuous learning. Her best friend recommended her to join Desmond's tutoring class, and we have never looked elsewhere because Desmond is top-notch. He knows all the IB syllabus requirements and changes. Desmond's care goes beyond that of a typical tutor. Outside of tutoring time, he reaches out to make sure his students are doing okay in tests, exams, and mocks throughout the two years. When school is out, Desmond still keeps going. He guides his students on how to grow from the mistakes they made. As parents, he definitely takes away our stress of making sure our child has a thorough understanding and is ready for exams. We are very grateful to have him as our daughter's mentor. We are more than happy to refer him to anyone who is looking for support for their child. Our recommendation is to start early, ideally before IB begins. I've been here since the start of JC1. I had my doubts about group tuition initially, but I was glad to have given it a go. Desmond has excellent class control. He is straightforward but tactful. Mr Desmond is an exceptional Chemistry tutor who explains even the most challenging HL topics with clarity and precision. His teaching style is concise, effective, and tailored to help students truly understand and apply concepts. He goes above and beyond by providing detailed revision materials, well-structured practice questions, and prompt support outside of class. His guidance has been invaluable in strengthening my grasp of IB Chemistry.

Teacher Desmond is a top-notch Chemistry tutor. But he is more than that; he was a mentor to my daughter, who aced IB HL Chem. My daughter was often anxious and demanding about a thorough academic understanding, and was looking for more. I asked friends, and he came highly recommended by the ACS Independent medic students. Teacher Desmond was very caring and always calmed my daughter’s angst, especially when she had a rough week. He counselled her and helped to instil balance and inner peace. Teacher Desmond knows the IB HL Chem syllabus and mark scheme very well. He teaches topics thoroughly, covering material that schools sometimes gloss over due to time constraints, especially those caused by long-term breaks, particularly in international schools. He only has the best wishes for his students, and he always encourages them to be the best version of themselves. I don’t think anything satisfies him more than receiving texts from his students on IB results day, screaming that they have attained a 6 or 7 in HL Chem, which is no walk in the park! Give your IB children the right environment to learn. The lack of time to learn any subject increases stress unnecessarily. The best tip I can give is: consider starting early a few weeks before IB Year 1 to get the cold engine warmed up after a long summer slumber!
